It's beginning to feel like the holiday season in school. The third grade did a great job of creating Christmas tree pictures.
The 1st graders were busy creating owls in art class. They tied this in with the story about the little owl that was found in the Christmas tree bound for Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. Please enjoy the gifts of the first graders during this holiday season.
The kindergarten class has been busy making snowmen and snow flakes to display outside their room. Great job kids! It looks wonderful!
New Guidelines for Covid-19 Quarantine
I am sure most of you have already heard of the new recommendations put out yesterday from MDH for close contact quarantine. Here it is in a nutshell.
The previous 14 days of quarantine for close contact to a known COVID positive person is still considered best practice . It can be shortened to 10 days if the following apply.
*the close contact WAS NOT a household member
*you have no symptoms
*you have not tested positive
*you promise to wear a mask, social distance and practice good hand hygiene
You can bring your quarantine down to 7 days if the following apply.
*All of the above PLUS
*You receive a negative PCR test [not a rapid test] at 5 days post exposure.

Dear Parents/Guardians of McGregor PK-6 students:
I am writing to inform you that McGregor Elementary will be moving to full distance learning model beginning on Thursday, September 24th. Unfortunately, this is due to the high number of staff members who are out due to quarantining for Covid-19. The district is hoping to have students and staff back to school on Monday, October 12th. Please know that health information is confidential and I am not able to give you specific details.
It is always top priority to make sure students and staff are safe at McGregor Public Schools
Sincerely,
Brad Johnson
Superintendent/Elementary Principal
Thank you to the Salvation Army of Northern Minnesota and the Aitkin County Sheriffs Department. They made a donation of school supplies and hygiene products to the McGregor Schools. In the picture is Officer Krosch and Dean of Students Mr. Dillner
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, we are having technical difficulties getting our board meeting on Facebook live. We are recording and will post that when meeting ends.
